I am a travel enthusiast with a bit of a dilemma. I have an undying passion for travel, culture, history and writing! But that is not the problem, obviously. The real dilemma is that I am a “not sooo young”, young, single woman, living in New York, in a too expensive apartment on the Upper East Side, working in an office, behind a desk, where I barely make enough money to scrape by on a month to month basis. Not exactly a life conducive to traveling and experiencing what the world has to offer.
Well here is the plan. I have decided that I am going to do something drastic and completely uncharacteristic. A year from today, I am going to leave my job, drop everything and travel the world for an undefined amount of time. Here I am going to chronicle my journey.
Why, you ask, am I starting this blog a year before my feet leave US soil?
Great question….let me explain. As much as I would like to think I can just up and leave at the drop of a hat, there is much to think through, research and plan leading up to such an endeavor. Here I will not only to chronicle the trip itself, but all of the planning leading up to it. I think there are quite a few people in my position, and if I can lay the ground work, the tracks so to speak, for others to fulfill their travel dreams, then I will feel as though I have made a positive contribution in my lifetime.
So here it goes…
