On day 2 in Singapore, I took the MRT, which again, like KL, was easy to navigate. I have to say that the city itself is pristine - even the subways sparkled. I went to the Bay Front to check out the Art and Science museum to see an Egyptian Mummy exhibit (always an interest of mine) and the Skypark Tower, which I heard was a fantastic sight (and it was). When I got to the museum I ended up seeing both the Mummy exhibit, which was interesting as I expected, but also a really strange LEGO art exhibit. To make a rather profitable life out of playing with LEGOs - this man must be brilliant!
NYC - take note: This is what a subway car should look like
The Art and Science Museum is the strange looking object behind me
This life size installation above really spoke to me :-)
After the museum I jumped right next door to the Skypark Tower. The options were to either pay $20 to access the Skypark, or got up through the restaurant and pay for a $15 drink. Drink, please! The view from the tower was really beautiful. In one direction you are looking over the shining city of concrete and glass, and in the other the bay, with countless large ships at anchor. There is also a nice walking path through a garden and an infinity pool that looks right over the 50 story edge. Pretty cool.
