I blame the children. I make no apologies for it. I traveled 8 months last year and did not get sick once. Throw in 400 germy little children and BAM! I am sick within 2 weeks. The problem is that the parents send their kids to school sick and no one does anything about it. The teachers either let them be or let them sleep it off in the corner of the room in a pool of sweat. I feel terrible for them. I remember my sister-in-law telling me all the time that Bella's teachers would call her to pick her up the minute she presented any symptoms. Why can't they do this here? No, instead, they let them get the rest of the class sick. And I am not the only teacher feeling the pain. Several of the teachers are sick. I can't even take off of work for this unless I visit the doctor and get a note, which I have been avoiding. Who knows though, maybe it will end up coming to that.
It has been a miserable sick too. Especially since Wednesday. It is now Saturday, over a week since the first symptoms started, and I am finally feeling a little better, but I am still blowing my nose like crazy and I have no voice. The voice thing started yesterday and I am surprised I made it through my classes. By the last one it was really fading, so I am not surprised it is completely gone today.
I have been taking a cold medicine for a while that wasn't doing much good, so I started an antibiotic regimen yesterday...I also made a homemade chicken soup last night that was fantastic! I'm just hoping to be back to normal soon....and praying that this does not persist all semester.
