Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

I only spent 2 days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, one of which was spent nestled in my lovely, air-conditioned hotel room (I was so tired after spending 1 day and 2 nights in transit), so this will be a short post for sure.  What I can say is that Kuala Lumpur seems like it would be a nice city to explore on a short stay.  I would have liked maybe another day or two to explore different areas, but that's about all I would need.

I arrived in the Sentral Train Station very early in the morning and booked my stay at about 5AM at a nearby hotel called Hotel Summer View, and around 11AM when I arrived they had not yet received my booking.  They were really nice though and accepted my email receipt for the booking.  They held my bags and gave me a map showing me the nearby sites and asked me to come back in 2 hours once they had the roomed cleaned and prepared.  I didn't mind at all since I was the one who foolishly waited until the morning of to book.  The room ended up being really lovely and the included breakfast wasn't bad either.  For the rest of the day I hibernated in the AC and watched cable TV for the first time in 3 months.  It felt fantastic!

On the 2nd day I ventured out.  The city was easy to navigate using the public transit system. I visited the famous city landmarks, such as the twin towers and the KL Tower.  I also browsed a few malls (seems to be 90% of what this city is comprised of), and found a FedEx shop to mail my nieces birthday presents from.  I should mention, for anyone looking to mail packages internationally that it cost me $55 to mail a 1kg (2.2lbs) package to the US from KL. Yikes!
