Now I am totallly geared up for actual Oktoberfest in Munich!
Little did I know when I booked my stay in Brasov that I would be there just in time for the start of their Oktoberfest celebrations. I spent a couple days getting psyched up as I watched them put up their tents and transform the town square, but when the opening day finally came I was pumped. What made it better is the group of fellow travelers at Kismet Dao Hostel, including Perry who is a bit of a beer enthusiast. A group of us got together to check out the opening day festivities and they did not disappoint in my eyes, aside from the fact they ended at 11pm. LAME-O! While we were there though we enjoyed ourselves drinking beer, listing to the live band and discussing the hotness level of the dancing girls in traditional German dirndl dresses, and watching an invigorating game of hat passing. I didnt understand what they were doing, seemed a bit like musical chairs with hats, but it was pretty hysterical. For a bunch of drunkards they were extremely coordinated. Now I am totallly geared up for actual Oktoberfest in Munich!
