We started off with an hour-long ride out to the islands. The first 2 locations we were able to snorkel in crystal clear waters, amongst a myriad of colorful, tropical fish and coral. From there we stopped at a lovely beach on Koh Phi Phi Don here we were provided a delicious buffet lunch and some time to relax with some Chang beer. After lunch we visited some famous sites around the islands, first Monkey beach, where we got to get up close and personal with wild (hardly "wild" being that they are fed by tourists all day) monkeys. Then we visited the cove where scenes from Jurassic Park were filmed, called Koh Phi Phi Leh. Here there was a saline pool where you could float without treading. This was hands down the most beautiful location of the day. Then we went to Maya Bay the location where they filmed The Beach with Leo DiCaprio - beautiful but way too many people for my taste. Finally we landed on a tiny island called Khai Island where the drinks were REALLY expensive, though I guess its okay since the island is recovering still from the 2006 Tsunami and needs the money (I still didn't buy the $14 drinks - sorry!)
I would recommend the company we toured with - good guides on JOKER TEAMMMM who spoke good English (something I have not experienced much of since I've been here). I will edit this post with the name of the company as soon as I can find it.
Such a great day spent with my Mom :)
